Join our Corporate Volunteer Program and make a difference in your community! This is an opportunity for your team to gain a deeper understanding of homelessness in Toronto and, most importantly, to be a part of the vital community work that helps people rebuild their lives. We offer interactive, enriching and unique team building and employee engagement opportunities for small and large groups.
Weekend Food Security Kits – Your team will prepare and assemble 200 bags with sandwiches, juice box, granola bar, an apple and write a short note. These kits will ensure that the residents in transitional and affordable housing have access to healthy food on the weekends. Your team will learn about the issues our community members face and will be able to understand and support the vital community work that helps them rebuild their lives.
Brunch – Host a brunch at Friends Restaurant located at the corner of Queen & Jarvis Streets. Your team will receive hands-on restaurant training in food preparation and will serve and provide a free meal for 200 people who are or have experienced homelessness and poverty. Amazing opportunity for you to connect to a group of people you might not otherwise.
Backyard Reno – Your team will turn the backyard of our Family Housing into a beautiful space. Your team will clean up the space, prepare flower beds, plant, weed, and help celebrate the beautification of the space with BBQ and games for families and kids.
Underwear Drive – Fred Victor has 4 sites for women who are homeless and experiencing deep poverty. We receive many donations of used clothing but we never have enough underwear. A new underwear drive held every few months could fill this great need.
Home Starter Kits – At our Women’s Transition Houses approximately 2 women every month move on to permanent housing. It costs a lot to move and set up a new home so we try to supply each woman with a bin full of the basics to help. Your team will purchase, assemble and deliver Home Starter Kit to the location.
Food Baskets – At our 145 Queen St. East location we house 108 people. For residents here there is seldom enough money at the end of the month for food or “extras” and food service is only offered Mon-Fri. We need volunteers to source/secure/pack weekend food basket for 108 people one Friday a month. One Friday afternoon each month 3-4 volunteers come to this location to sort, prepare and pack food baskets for each resident.
All volunteer opportunities are custom made based on the size of your team and your preferences.
“The staff at Fred Victor helped us put together a plan to revitalize the community backyard at one of their sites. The yard was overgrown with weeds and the lawn chairs had worn out at the seats. By the end of the day, we shared our progress with the tenants by inviting them to have a picnic with burgers made on a brand new barbecue.” InFlow Inventory Team Building Day at the Dawes Rd. “It was a great experience hosting a brunch at Fred Victor with our GE Capital Team. We learned so much about working in a kitchen, met some wonderful people and learned first-hand about the work they do to help the homeless community. I would recommend volunteering in the Restaurant to other groups wanting to make a difference!” GE Captial Team Building Day at Friends Restaurant
