Regent Park Community Bake Oven
The City of Toronto’s Regent Park Community Bake Oven is a wood-fired, community-run oven located in Regent Park and managed by Fred Victor. It is a shared space where neighbours can cook, share food, and come together in community.
Before you book
Fred Victor’s bake oven booking process is intended for individuals and small private gatherings of up to 50 people.
For larger and/or public events, the bake oven may still be available. However, additional steps are required. Please see the section below on Special Event Permits.

When a City of Toronto Special Event permit may be required
Some events require a City of Toronto Special Event permit. This may apply if your event includes:
- serving food to the general public
- alcohol
- amplified sound, such as speakers or megaphones
- structures or other more complex event elements
If a Special Event permit is required, you will need both:
- a bake oven booking made through this website
- a City of Toronto Special Event permit
Most small community bakes do not require a Special Event permit. Please review the City’s Special Event permit requirements before continuing.
What your booking includes
A bake oven booking includes use of the oven only.
If your event requires additional food preparation space, including the rest of the pavilion or the concrete tables, a separate permit or booking through the City of Toronto may be required.
Booking timeline
The bake oven is available year-round, with winter availability subject to change. Bookings are available from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Bookings must be completed at least two weeks before the event date. If your booking requires a special event permit, please book at least 8 weeks in advance to allow time for processing and approval of your required permits.
If you are requesting a recurring booking, you will be asked to list your requested dates in the application. All recurring bookings are reviewed and confirmed based on availability.
Insurance
Insurance is required for all bake oven bookings. Once your booking is finalized, Fred Victor staff will contact you with information about obtaining insurance.
Booking fees
Outdoor ovens are free to book for Toronto residents and not-for-profit organizations.
A booking fee of $32.52 applies to commercial use and non-residents.
How to book
Step 1: Review this page before starting your booking. It includes important information about fees, insurance, conditions of use, and City requirements.
Step 2: Check availability, choose your preferred date, and pay the booking fee, if applicable, here.
Step 3: Submit your booking application online here.
Step 4: Confirm whether your event requires any City of Toronto permits and make sure all required permits are secured.
Step 5: Book and complete bake oven training, if required. If your event includes use of the bake oven, the registrant or at least one person from your group must be trained as the bake oven operator. Please watch the training video below before your event. Conditions of Use
- At least one member of the group who attends the booking is required to watch a 7-minute training video on the safe operation of an outdoor oven.
- Starting on June 1, 2026, a set of cooking and safety tools will be provided at all sites, including a long-handled pizza peel, metal ash pail, oven brush, and safety gloves. You will need to bring your own ingredients and wood. Before using the oven, allow it to preheat for two to three hours.
- The outdoor bake oven is hot. There is a risk of burns and you accept the risk and liability for the use of the outdoor bake oven.
- This booking is intended for a private social gathering and not an event open to the public.
- On the day of the event, the Registrant must present the booking confirmation and any other permits if required.
- The following items and activities are not allowed: tying anything to trees; staking or digging the ground; using inflatables (i.e. bouncy castles; dunk tanks and generators; tents, tarps, canopies, and beach or patio umbrellas; balloons, decorations, signage or banners.
- You are responsible for disposing all garbage, using onsite bins or making alternative arrangements for any excess garbage.
- Driving or parking on grassy areas or park access roads is prohibited. Street parking is available in the surrounding area.
Additional Information:
- This booking does not include picnic table rentals, snow fencing, waste containers or barricades.
- The outdoor bake oven requires 2-4 hours to fire (heat).
- In most parks, washrooms will be open from May to September. Winter-access washrooms are available in some parks. Details can be found at: www.toronto.ca/washrooms
- Please note that it is recommended that you arrive to your area booked for Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays by 10:00am.
- Registrants are required to take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of all participants during severe weather, including postponing or cancelling activities, games or events if appropriate.
