Social Service Training and Employment Program (SSTEP)
The Social Service Training and Employment Program (SSTEP) is designed for people with lived experience of homelessness who are eager to re-enter the workforce. This program provides participants with the training, support, and paid work opportunities they need to prepare for future employment in the social services sector.
SSTEP offers:
- One-on-one support from an Employment Specialist
- Opportunities to gain work experience in social services
- A personalized action plan to support career goals
- Connections to other agencies for potential job opportunities
- Free training in First Aid, CPI, and Customer Service
Through SSTEP, participants are empowered to build meaningful careers in social services, using their lived experience as a foundation for success.
Community Services Peer Training Program and Community Advocacy Office
The Community Services Peer Training Program (CSPT) equips and empowers people with lived experience of accessing community supports and social services to become service providers and community advocates.
CSPT offers:
- Community Peer and Case Management training
- Developed within a thriving Community Hub, connecting participants to multiple programs and services
- Designed to help participants make a meaningful impact in their local community through Peer Work
- Focused on short-term Case Management training to prepare trainees for Peer Work placements
- Free training in First Aid, CPI, and other industry-related certifications
