This year, Kindred Spirits is proud to support Fred Victor by fundraising for Mary Sheffield House and their specialized programs and services for women.

Mary Sheffield House, named after Fred Victor’s founder, is a transitional shelter for senior women aged 55 and older who are vulnerable due to complex physical health challenges, mental health concerns, and developmental disabilities. At Mary Sheffield House, staff work closely with each woman to help find housing and establish appropriate supports, ensuring they do not end up back on the street.

Senior women are often overlooked in traditional shelters, drop-ins, and housing programs. Many require specialized care and support that standard services don’t provide. They need safe, stable housing, access to health and financial resources, and programs that help rebuild confidence and dignity—giving them the time and support needed to make meaningful life changes.
