People and their pets who are temporary residents of the Fred Victor Bethlehem United Shelter on Caledonia Road received care and support on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at a special event.

Walter Kuberski from Rescue OP, Sheena Snow and Jessica Carroll from Streetz 2 Treatz, and Jocelyn Spears from Spears & Shears hosted a truly heart-warming and fun, furry afternoon at the shelter. Three veterinary students from the University of Guelph veterinary program were on hand, as well.

Residents selected pet food, toys and supplies at the tables displaying donated items, pets were given veterinary care, treats, and were groomed by Jocelyn’s mobile pet grooming services. Rescue Op not only collected donated pet food and supplies, but got a picnic table for the shelter and a pizza lunch from Domino’s Pizza was served to everyone (minus the dogs and cats).

Very big thanks to Walter and Rescue Op who gave his time and thoughtful effort to our residents. The event was the first of its kind at the Caledonia Shelter and brought people together in a warm and special way. Thank you!
