SAS employee Jill Parsonage throws her best pie at a very reluctant Director of Consulting and Professional Services Operations for SAS Canada, Mr. Andy Court

SAS is the leader in business analytics software and services, and the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market located oh-so-close to Fred Victor’s downtown Toronto sites. And how lucky we are to have them nearby! Because while their specialty is tackling big data to help its customers improve performance by making better decisions faster, they have found a way to help Fred Victor address homelessness in our City. And they do it in such a fun way!

Back in July, when Toronto was hot with Pan Am fever, SAS held a Pie in the Face and BBQ event. Five SAS directors and one Vice President volunteered to be pied by the person who donated the highest amount of money. To reach their goal, they set minimum targets and each time they raised more than the target. Seventy-seven employees attended and raised $1,720.

The SAS employees have plans to raise another $780 for a total of $2,500. SAS has promised to match that amount to meet the $5,000 that is needed to furnish a family’s 3 bedroom apartment at Fred Victor’s new, affordable Pan Am Housing which will open in Spring 2016.
