Chinese New Year celebrations at the Women's 24/7 Drop-in were filled with sweet music and dance.  The dancers, most of them senior Chinese women, come to the Drop-in during the day to learn English.  Each Chinese New Year they share some of the beauty of their culture with others.

One woman teaches Chinese folk and national dance in Toronto (front, centre).   She knows hundreds of dances. In a couple of days, she will go to the Regent Park Community Centre to perform, again.  She designed and made the costumes that the women wore in the photo below using fabric she purchased herself or was able to get hold of through community programs.  She came to Canada at the age of 50 in 1997, and now at the age of 70, communicates very easily in English.
