About Us
Fred Victor is a social services organization that fosters long-lasting and positive change in the lives of homeless and low income people living all across Toronto.
We offer a wide range of programs that help each person find the support they need. Whether it is advocacy for renters or finding shelter, job training or counselling, food access or health information, Fred Victor dedicates itself to innovatively serving people who are experiencing homelessness and poverty.
The posters flashing here were made by our community program users and they express how they feel about Fred Victor. Fred Victor is a member of Toronto Neighbourhood Centres, and like other neighbourhood centres, it is anchored in the values of inclusiveness, opportunity and mutual support.
Fred Victor began in 1894 as the Fred Victor Mission. From our original church roots we have grown into an organization with 160 staff including relief and part time positions. We welcome 250 volunteers annually and are fortunate to receive funding support from every sector of society.
Fred Victor is known as a leading advocate and innovator when it comes to poverty, housing and homelessness. Each day, more than 1,000 individuals use Fred Victor programs and services. We encourage you to read the Success Stories on this website to see what a difference our work can bring to the lives of individuals, families and their community.
Our Mission Statement is to provide responsive, accessible and innovative housing and services for people who are experiencing homelessness and poverty, and to advocate for a more equitable society.
